A Loose Plan For Porchfest
A layout of my hopeful schedule today
Alright. TODAY. Like, now. (Saturday the 9th if you’re reading this later) is the now annual, Porchfest - an all day music festival of local musicians playing in the front of peoples houses (and other places) in the Tower District.
It is so freaking rockus and overwhelming (in a good way) that it is kinda tough to figure out who to see and when. I will give you my loose/hopeful schedule with hopes that it helps you figure out yours.
First we check music writer, Joshua Tehee’s newsletter (Bandgeeeek) to get a primer on the day’s features. Truly check it out because it comprehensive and you can just leave this place for that Substack and not come back.

Also, especially reminding myself to bring cash for tipping the bands and possibly buying some merch - I am hoping there will be lots of tapes available because I need way more local tapes!!
Yes, there are port-a-johns scattered around that are reflected in the map with brown (tee hee he) balloons.
No, the Tower District is not one big beer garden for this, so be lawful with your drinking.
