Are we really only the 9th market in California?
A new Unstoppable Automotive commercial (the new owner of Downtown’s Haron Jaguar - as Haron sold recently) touted Fresno as the 9th market in California (sorry, I have no access to the commercial to show you).
But, yeah, anyway, he said we are the “9th market” in California - like, that is an impressive thing.
But I’m thinking, “We’re only 9th?”
We are the 5th most populated city in California, how is that?!
Okay, let’s get through the obvious markets above Fresno:
Los Angeles
San Francisco
San Diego
San Jose
Sacramento
Okay, we should be here, right?
Nope. That is only five.
I guess he is talking about car-buying markets. So maybe we count these as regions:
Orange County
Oakland
So now we are here yeah? Nope, there is still one more. I guess we are taking Long Beach as its own market then? So…
Long Beach
Fresno
Man, that feels not right, but okay.
We fucking love cars here as much as the next California city, seems weird that we are so populated but rank low on the car market.
Just not enough money flowing in the Fresno market, I guess.
I bet if they included tractor sales, that ranking would change really damn fast.🙄
Side note: If you’d like to go back to the beginning of California cities and see when Fresno starts taking hold, check this out:
I found out at Bandgeeeek by
that English Beat is at Stummers on Saturday! That is a nice little place to see them and tickets are pretty reasonable for these days as they start at $28:And on Monday night, Saroyan has Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson - pretty nice music weekend even with just those two.
More of what is happening music-wise in Feburary can be found in this edition of Bandgeeeek.
Okie dokie. Glad to have you here and reading. And if you’re like me, please continue to enjoy pronouncing [in British Voice] “JAG-U-Warr” everytime you see a Jaguar in front of you at a stoplight.
