While I butcher the name every time this restaurant in Downtown Fresno (next to the Crest Theater) comes up (La-el-bo-ela … Labella … Looloo’s) I finally actually went.
It’s, of course, Libelula.
Food was great as expected. Went for breakfast and the eggs Benedict were on point, as was everything else.
Service was good, although they were a little under-staffed (as most places seem to be these days).
Ambiance was great to me; it was described at the table as “SF in the 90s” and I can’t argue.
You will likely experience some “Downtown grit” parking or walking in, but that is just to keep away the Clovis people, so you you’ll be fine.
Things Fresno Is Talking About This Week
Tool is returning to Fresno in February at the Save Mart Center - Scope out some tickets through Ticket Network if you’re curious (Ticket Network is an affiliate partner of mine, fyi). Tool has pre-sale offers if you want to join their army.
Friday I would totally recommend seeing the Australian band Amyl and The Sniffers (tickets still available at the moment). I was researching them after seeing
post about them and it looks like a fun-ass show.Sunday is the end of the big BIG big Fresno Fair, so plan accordingly.
A quick post for ya. I am going to dip. Thanks for reading. I’ll talk Fresno with you later.
-Mike (The Fresnan)
Love the food, but I'm begging them to put some sound foam in there or something, it's like eating in an airplane hangar. I sound like my parents every time I eat there. "WHAT WAS THAT? THE SPECIALS ARE WHAT? COULD YOU REPEAT THAT?"
I totally forgot to include the Amyl and The Sniffers show on Friday at the Tioga Sequoia Beer Garden. At the moment there are still tickets https://ticketnetwork.tp.st/lmnBpUsT
