How are you holding up through the heat wave this week? It’s our first Summer preview and I have been enjoying the nights and managing to not turn on the AC (eat me, PG&E), getting by with open doors and windows at night…for now.
Heads up: No more paying cash at the Kings Canyon or Sequoia gate, but you can buy a pass with cash at the visitor center before in case ya forgot your card.
Yosemite’s South Entrance has been on this for a bit already. Cash is near death 😢.

Speaking of Yosemite, excited to have Glacier Point Road open (starting Saturday) and the shuttle to Mariposa Grove return - great excuse to get back up the hill. Just DO NOT go up during the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, too many damn peoples.
Keeping with Yosemite, there is a good recent opinion piece by the Bee’s Marek Warszawski that I am in tune with. I did not like the reservation system to get into the park when it came out, but I have come around to the opinion that it is a good and necessary way to regulate the heavy flow of people.
Playing Fresno Lights Roulette
We all know the “take three beats rule” before going into an intersection once the light turns green in Fresno, yeah? Nothing illustrates why we do that more than any light on Friant:
