There is a new Dollar Tree in my area and the first little thought that pops in my head is “So the neighborhood is going to shit then?”
This one is at Bullard & Marks. There is also one going in at West & Shaw.
Things in the neighborhood I would rather have:
An empty store
Batman villans
A water heater that leakes into the neighborhood
Crow gangs
Cones that sit in a spot forever and nobody knows why they’re there
More potholes
Those tall blowup dudes on corners that flop around
Rats
A furniture store that has been in “Closing! Everything Must Go!” mode for five years
A vacant lot with BMX hills
Dude that blasts Boat Rock from his garage every weekend
Say no to Dollar Tree, Dollar General (especially), Dollar Whatever…ALL the dollar genre stores. Fuck’em. Don’t need, don’t want.
Food Fresno is known for: Ramen
Even though the data is coming from Yelp 😬, I like Bethany’s article in the Bee on how our area has five places in a top ten of good ramen spots in California! So now we are town for:
Tri-tip
Tacos
Ramen
and a whole buncha other stuff.👍
Listen to Fresno flow
Josh and I have our April episode up of Flowing With Famous and we get into the Valley Children’s CEO making all that money, local dispensaries, Porchfest pregame and more! Find it in a podcast app or listen here:
Thank you for reading! Please subscribe if you haven’t (and maybe pledge?…). Enjoy Fresno’s partial eclipse on Monday around 11:14 AM (April 8th) and we’ll talk later.

Oh I could totally see us getting a Batman villain. Jerry D falls into a vat of something then consciousness merges with his Fairgrounds robot. Oh and F them Dollar Stores.
Well said, wish i had more to say, but that all that i said.
