Yes I am old enough to remember this being the entrance to the gates at Fresno Airport (FAT, yo), now Yosemite International.
Sure, it’s good that we have an updated airport and that it’s expanding too. But if this was still our terminal right now, you KNOW it would be plastered all over Instagram and enjoying a big retro moment.
I believe it still is there, carpet and all. It’s (roughly) under your feet when you’re at the TSA gate. It so happens I had a work related thing at the airport a few years ago and it took me down there and there it was in all its colorful retro glory.
Vote For YOUR Fresno
You have until the end of Friday to vote in the Fresno Bee’s Best Of Fresno. There is no media related category that I can see, but still plenty of other stuff to vote on.
Fresno Rocks Less
I gotta say, it’s been a while since a local radio station did a format change that popped up on my radar. I switched over to Rock 105.1 yesterday and they were playing Shakira. This is a metal, heavier rock with some classic, station.
Ohhhhh shizzzz they changed formats. It’s now Latin hits or something like that.
Rude.
Now we only have 104.1 and 95.7 playing rock with any regularity. It’s times like these you learn to live again…times like these…time and time again.
….
Anyways, thank you for opening this, it’s greatly appreciated. Have a good weekend! Don’t forget that Rogue Festival is happening!

EXAACTLY bro. I fly FAT all the time because its just me and me only. So Ill pay a little extra for the convenience of flying into the town and UBER home and crash! But if you have a fam of 4 and you're saving 200 bucks per person per ticket then that's 800 bucks savings which makes it almost worth it (for me anyways), to pile into a car and pay gas to drive to SFO. BUT for me it only makes it worth it if I don't pay for long term parking. That shit adds up. I would have to stay at a friend or fams house that lives near the airport to park my car to make it worth it-but there again is all the HASSLE of doing it.
I remember when I first moved to Fresno the airport was just beginning its makeover, but I was so impressed with the carpeted flooring and wood paneling I kept thinking this is what an airport should look like. Coming from Boston and New York airports there were commercialized and not a comfortable experience.
