I am feeling confident about our mood going into this heat stretch. There is an upbeat feel. Usually, everyone gets kinda cranky during elevated temps, but there is almost a “bring it” vibe happening.
We have all trained for this, haven’t we?
I think when that erroneous 120 prediction got out there by Apple’s unreliable weather app, it got us ready for hell and then when it turned out to be more like 112, it was like, “Okay, well, not as bad as it could be.”
We are going to be bonding during this stretch. Do not fear it. Embrace it.
And don’t be afraid to use an umbrella or take a cold shower - it freaking works on cooling you down, I do it all the time.
Kinda related, I finally saw a June Bug this year - it was July 2nd but I saw one. There have been less and less the past few years, but I would always see a couple. I didn’t see any last year.
Is this a byproduct of Climate Change or just a down cycle for June Bugs? Dunno.
And yes, I am one of those people that worries about animals (and insects that are not mosquitos) more than humans sometimes. We all hate the people that keep their animals in unshaded runs - screw them bastards.
More info on keeping a pet protected in heat can be found here.
Okay, keep it safe and somewhat sane, and I’ll talk to you later.

The heat was a bonding experience as a kid. We played with a hose and had no AC. Survived just fine.
My daughter says that they are not June bugs in July. They are July bugs and then August bugs!
