What do people in Seattle do to combat this? In Chicago and New York? Cleveland?
A season of cold, wet, windy or grey skies.
Fresno is having an historical type of Winter and I am so fucking over it.
Is it great that the Sierras and even the Coastal Range has a solid snowpack? Hell yes.
Has the air been great? Sure.
Is it nice that I haven’t had to turn on my sprinklers for months? Yeah.
BUT I AM STILL FUCKING OVER IT I TELLS YOU!!
Seriously though, (for want of a better way to describe it) there has been this sorta white-noise of a kinda depression for me these past couple months. I feel that the lack of nice weather is a major cause. I guess I am just one of those people.
(Madera or Fresno, it always feels like it’s “fucking raining” to me)
There have been several times recently that it feels like this Winter will never end.
It’s silly I know because July and August will come and I might regret this post but that is how I am feeling now.
Just know that if you’re feeling this too, you’re not alone. And it honestly blows.
One More Shot Before I Go
Living nearish to Palm Avenue, we have heard this quite a lot recently:
(That is a recording I took from my backyard)
It sounds like someone driving around simply shooting a semiautomatic gun in the air. It is never followed by sirens. I never see anything in the news. Only an occasional post on NextDoor.
“Did you hear that!?”
Now yes, there is someone in the neighborhood that has a car regularly backfiring that sounds similar, but that ain’t it. (By the way, dude, get your damn car fixed or start riding a bike if you can’t afford it).
So I guess there is someone that likes to shoot up the sky regularly in the Fig Garden area and we are all like “Meh” 🤷🏻♂️
Okay cool. I will get out of your hair. Thank you for reading Fresno!Fresno!, tell your city blog enthusiast friends all about it. Fingers crossed for some nice weather someday.

🤘✌️🤟
The sun is out right now! Go, go take that coffee outside facing east. 😁 I'm here for it! Too bad we can't compromise the weather just sprinkles and sunshine. I love that the most.
You are correct on so many levels. Just read this story this morning about what's happening https://www.lamag.com/citythinkblog/how-la-will-survive-coming-environmental-apocalypse/?utm_campaign=Daily%20Update&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=248224219&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_570BzaxZhkExdlD_G_tnG1eFOmUDCZs3KZtq4mzN3Ff5oWiDVwQ4uo-s42WEVufkqa3l0yINrUKI2vnbfg3kH2sEZ4Q&utm_content=248224219&utm_source=hs_email. Interesting read
After living through some rough winters back east all I can say is when the heat hits well be longing for the winter. Or at least I know I will.
Great post Mike.
